The benefits of connecting young generations with seniors

Even though these two generations are so different and even opposite in many ways, they also have a lot in common. They can easily learn from each other and develop greater cognitive skills. Integrational programs bring these two generations together to interact and participate in different activities and knowledge exchange.

Kids are known to bring joy to our lives, and so are seniors. They both share many personality traits, like curiousness, joy, excitement, empathy, honesty, openness, and many more. These make them perfect for integrational programs and they can both benefit each other.

We all need a good role model, and for young people, having seniors in their lives develop a positive self-image and many cognitive and comprehension skills. For seniors, interacting with kids gives them a sense of belonging and makes them feel less isolated. And there are many more benefits of integrating kids with seniors, so we have made a list.

  1. Both generations can learn and teach new skills to the other
  2. Give kids and seniors a sense of purpose
  3. Help kids develop social and cognitive skills
  4. The opportunity to be around someone genuine loving and caring?
  5. Invigorate and energize older adults
  6. Help reduce the likelihood of depression in the elderly
  7. Reduce the feeling of isolation and depression in seniors
  8. Fill a void for children who do not have grandparents available to them
  9. Pass on decades of wisdom
  10. Get the feeling of accomplishment and success.
  11. Be heard and understood.
